← SUBURB ATLAS

DATA & COVERAGE

Know what the numbers mean.

Available in this version

The bundled directory uses ABS 2021 suburbs and localities, downloaded on 19 September 2026. Live ABS boundaries support selection on the map. The basic suburb description gives its state and approximate area.

Nearby places come from OpenStreetMap within 5 km of a reference point in the locality. They may be incomplete. Distances are straight-line; nearby schools are not necessarily your designated schools.

Statistics need a sourced dataset

National property medians, ten-year sale and rent histories, resident tenure, average days on market and crime histories are not bundled. The website displays these only after the owner supplies a verified dataset. A dash means unavailable, not zero.

If you own this website, follow DATA-CONNECTION.md in the download package. Upload the documented JSON files, or connect a compatible data feed. No commercial vendor adapter is included.

Reading a profile

Prices are Australian dollars. Rent is per week. Each statistic identifies its source, reporting period, geographic area and relevant property type. Property charts show the last ten completed calendar years; crime charts show five. Missing observations are gaps, with annual tables available below populated charts.

Tenure percentages refer to residents living in rented or owned homes, not individual legal ownership. They must use all residents as the denominator. Standard dwelling-based percentages are not substituted. Other tenure or unknown responses can mean the two percentages do not sum to 100%.

Recorded crime rates are offences per 100,000 residents. Counting rules differ by jurisdiction; read the definition and geography. LGA-wide data is not equivalent to a suburb rate.
